Five Things I’m Thankful For

IMG_0879

God has blessed our family in so many ways! As Thanksgiving approaches, I realize I have so many things to truly be thankful for. It is helpful to me after a long day or week to remember these things. Here are some of them!

Number 1- My family. Duh. I love my family! I never knew how incredible and fulfilling being a mother and starting a family could be! Even when its hectic, stressful, or frustrating, it is the most fulfilling job that I’ve ever had. I’m so thankful that God gave me this opportunity to mother and love another soul. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for our family and to watch it grow!

Number 2- Coffee. I mean it’s called “mom fuel” for a reason. When the hectic, stressful, and frustrating parts of motherhood rear their heads, coffee is always there for you. A nice cup of hot coffee (or iced coffee) can totally change your perspective. I honestly don’t know how people who don’t like coffee get by!!

Number 3- My mom friends. I love all of my friends and my mom friends are some really special people! I love having best friends that are in the same stage of life as me. Having the support of your friends is so important when you’re a mom and I’m lucky to have such good friends that love me and my baby! I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have these ladies to vent to and express my worries and fears to. I’m glad that we can help each other through the difficult times and pray for each other and also celebrate the good times!!

Number 4- The weekend. Man am I thankful for the weekend. Brian and I are so grateful that I am able to stay home with Wesley and he has a job that gives him reasonable time off. For me, the weekend is a time to recharge and connect with my family. Being a full-time mom is exhausting and sometimes you just need a day with your other half to re-energize.

Number 5- God’s promises. I’m ending on this one because it is the most important. When I think of the things I am thankful for I always think of the promises God has made to me! He will never leave me and no matter how stressful life gets, he is there. Being a mom has given me a greater appreciation for our eternal home. There are so many unsure things in this life, but we can rest assured knowing that we all have a home together in heaven!

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalm 106:1
