Here are some quick and cheap DIYs to do with your essential oils!
- Bath salts! All you need is epsom salts, essential oils of your choosing, and a container to hold them in! I usually add whatever “empty” essential oils I have. There is usually a little bit of oil leftover that just doesn’t come out of the droper, so I take the droper off and put the oil bottle upside down into the epsom salts (see picture at the top)! The salts pull out and soak in the leftover oil! This way not a single bit goes to waste AND you have some nice relaxing bath salts 🙂 Use lavender for a relaxing bath, or peppermint for a good muscle soak! Or any oil that you love!
- Mattress freshener! Our mattresses soak in a LOT of yuck. Sweat, dead skin cells, other bodily fluids from our children (lol), SO you need to freshen it up from time to time! All you need is baking soda, essential oils, and a container! Add 10-20 drops of essential oil to 1-2 cups of baking soda, sprinkle it across your mattress, let it sit for about 20 minutes, then vacuum it up! I like to use lavender or a citrusy oil for this, but you can use whatever you like!
- Linen or room spray! Young living actually sells a lavender linen spray that is sooo good. It’s in their seedlings line (for babies), but I have personally used it on mine and Brian’s pillows and its so fresh and relaxing. BUT this may be a cheaper option and you can also add different oils if you want something other than lavender. All you need is witch hazel, water, essential oils, and a spray bottle! You can find cute small amber glass spray bottles on amazon that are the perfect size for this HERE! Add about 1/4 cup of witch hazel, 1/4 cup of water, and 20-30 drops of essential oil to the bottle! I’m going to make this with my purification oil for a nice room spray, but I think it would also be really nice with citrus fresh!
- Anti-aging “lotion”. I love using essential oils on my face! They are great for anti aging and for keeping your skin bright and clear! All you need for this is liquid coconut oil, essential oils, and a container! Add 20-30 drops of essential oil to about half a cup of liquid coconut oil! I love cedarwood and frankincense on my face! They are amazing for clear skin and anti aging! But I also think Lavender would be a great addition especially for a “night time cream”! Honestly any oil (except maybe peppermint since you’ll be applying close to your eyes) or oil combo would be great!
